Get Lafza

Don’t type it. Just say it.

Hold a key, speak, let go. Your words land at the cursor, already tidied up, in every app on your Windows PC or Mac.

Free. No account to create. Your words stay yours.

Your voice has a head start.

The same sentence, in real time: typing at about 40 words a minute, speaking at about 150, plus a second for the text to land. Your speeds will vary.

What was said

Your words will show here.

That three-minute voice note? Read it in seconds.

Drop a WhatsApp, Telegram or Signal voice message on the mic. The mic opens up and the text grows as it’s heard, in whatever language your friend was speaking. Copy it, insert it, close it. No more listening in a queue at 1.5× speed.

How voice notes work

Drag it to the mic, or tap it

Talk like you talk. Read like you meant it.

The ums, the false starts, the “at three, no, at quarter past”: gone. Commas turn up where they belong. Say “new paragraph” or “bullet point” and the page listens.

And when it changes a word you chose on purpose, one click puts yours back. It’s always your sentence.

We should the launch until the demo feels right.

Te mando el report antes del call, ¿vale?

Voice notes, emails, prompts. Whatever’s next.

Speak the way your head works.

Start in Arabic, reach for the English word, finish in Spanish. Lafza leaves every word in the language you said it in and never translates behind your back.

Right-to-left is at home here too: the mic moves to the correct side of the cursor, so it never sits on your words.

The small things, sweated.

Nothing you say gets lost.
Connection dropped? The recording is kept, and an orange dot offers it again in the same app.
Your words go home.
Switch windows mid-thought and the text waits for the window you started in.
Silence stays silent.
Lafza checks for speech before sending anything, so a quiet room never becomes “Thanks for watching!”
It reads the room.
Spaces and capitals fit whatever is already before your cursor, so a sentence joins in mid-paragraph.
The mic knows its place.
A small dot by your cursor that grows when you reach for it, and hides while you type. Or dock it to a screen edge.
Your keys, your rules.
Any shortcut you like. Turn Lafza off in one app with two clicks, and your games keep their keys.

No Lafza server. Not even a small one.

Your audio goes straight from your computer to the speech service you picked, on your own key. No account, no sign-in, nobody in the middle.

  • Keys live in Windows Credential Manager or macOS Keychain.
  • Dictated text is never written to the logs.
  • Anonymous reports stay off unless you turn them on.

  4. Say something

Your first real dictation happens right there in the setup.

Already have an OpenAI or Deepgram key? Use that instead.

If there’s a cursor, it works.

Lafza puts text where you’re already writing, so there’s nothing to integrate and nothing to switch to. It’s also the fastest way to give your AI a proper brief: most people speak about three times faster than they type.

Two honest exceptions: password fields are left alone, and on Windows, apps running as administrator get your text on the clipboard, ready for Ctrl+V.

Made for each device, not ported to it.

Fair questions.

Is Lafza really free?

Yes, for personal use: no word limit, no time limit, no account. Speech services charge by use and you deal with them directly. Groq has a free plan that needs no card.

Do I need an API key?

Yes, it’s how your audio reaches a speech service without passing through us. The setup walks you through a free Groq key in about a minute. OpenAI and Deepgram keys work too, and polish can use any OpenAI-compatible service or Anthropic.

Where does my voice go?

From your computer directly to the service you chose, under your own key. Lafza has no server in between and no account. Recordings stay in memory unless you turn on keeping them on disk.

Which languages does it understand?

The speech services behind it, such as Whisper, handle around a hundred languages. Lafza can detect the language by itself, and it’s built with Arabic, Spanish and mixed-language speech in mind, including right-to-left text.

How accurate is it?

That depends mostly on the speech service you choose, your microphone and the room. Services built on Whisper are strong in many languages, and the clean-up pass fixes much of what’s left. Speech recognition still makes mistakes, so read anything important before you send it.

Do I have to speak slowly or perfectly?

No. Talk the way you’d talk to a colleague. Pauses, “um”s and changing your mind halfway are expected, and the clean-up pass tidies them away.

Which apps does it work in?

Anywhere you can type: browsers, chat apps, email, documents, code editors and AI tools. It pastes at the cursor, so apps don’t need to support it. It never touches password fields.

Is there an app for iPhone or Android?

Not yet. Lafza is coming to both: share a WhatsApp voice message or any recording and read it, or tap and talk to have it written down, with everything kept as notes. Choose iPhone or Android when you sign up and you’ll hear first.

How long can I talk?

Up to two minutes per dictation in the free version, and everything you said is inserted. Voice notes can run up to 30 minutes.

How is it different from Windows voice typing or Mac dictation?

Built-in dictation is fine for a sentence or two. Lafza adds a shortcut you hold anywhere, a clean-up pass on your words, a mic at the cursor, mixed-language speech, voice notes, and your choice of speech service.

Can I use it at work, or offline? Can I pay for it?

The free version is for personal use. An optional one-time licence covers work use and adds offline transcription, a personal vocabulary and per-app writing styles, with no subscription. A new install includes those extras for its first 14 days; after that Lafza simply stays free.

Give your keyboard the afternoon off.

Lafza is opening soon on Windows and Mac. Leave your email and you’ll be among the first to try it.
